NATA Eligibility 2019: Application Process, Exam Fee

The Council of Architecture (COA) has been conducting a national level entrance exam for architecture courses since 2006 under the regulations of the Minimum Standards of Architectural Education 1983. This exam is called the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA). NATA is an undergraduate level entrance exam, which is required to take admission to the B.Arch courses in India. NATA is an individual entrance examination, which evaluates only students who are willing to pursue 5-year architecture courses. Notably, this is an isolated examination designed to assess the aptitude of architecture students only.

The COA conducts the NATA exam every year in the month of April. It is mandatory for 12th pass students to qualify for the NATA exam in order to be eligible for B.Arch courses in the architecture colleges in India.

NATA 2019 Eligibility Criteria

You must satisfy these basic criteria to be eligible for taking the NATA 2019 exam.

You must have either completed or appearing in the 12th examination with Mathematics as the main subjects at 10+2 level from a recognised educational board in India.

If you are pursuing or have passed Diploma program in any stream after passing your 10th Standard i.e. any Diploma after 10th Class, you can apply for the NATA 2019.

If you are appearing or have passed the International Baccalaureate Diploma after completing your 10 years of schooling, you are eligible for the NATA exam 2019.

However, you must note that qualifying NATA 2019 exam only will not make you eligible for taking admission to B.Arch courses in any architecture colleges in India. Along with qualifying NATA 2019, you must satisfy the admission criteria set up by every individual college.

Hence, in order to be eligible for the B.Arch program through NATA 2019, you must satisfy the following eligibility criteria as well.

You must have completed 12th Standard with Mathematics as the main subject from a recognised board.

You must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in order to be eligible for architecture courses in India.

If you have a three-year Diploma after 10th Standard, you must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in Diploma program.

Similarly, if you own an International Baccalaureate Diploma after 10 years of your schooling, you must obtain a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate.

You must note that the percentage criterion, however, can be varied from college to college.

NATA 2019 Reservation Policy

All the candidates must note that there is no reservation policy for appearing for the NATA 2019 examination. However, you may produce your category certificate, if applicable, at the time of applying for individual colleges.

NATA 2019 Application Process

You must note that the application form for NATA 2019 can only be filled up via online mode.

You need to apply for NATA 2019 exam via visiting the official website of NATA i.e. www.nata.in.

You need to visit the NATA online portal and click on the “Online Application NATA 2019” link.

As soon as you click on this link, you will be redirected to the NATA 2019 application form page.

Here, you will be required to fill up all the mandatory details mentioned in the online application form of NATA 2019.

You must fill up all the mandatory fields without which your application form will not be accepted.

The NATA application form 2019 is divided into three categories viz. personal details, documents uploading and fee payment. You need to go ahead step by step and complete the form with making the payment of the prescribed NATA 2019 fee. As soon as you complete with filling up your personal details, you will be redirected to the documents uploading page. Here, you will need to upload the soft copies of the required documents. Once you successfully upload all your documents, you will further be redirected to the NATA application fee payment page. Once you are done with making the payment, you will see a ‘Confirmation Page’. You are required to take the printout of this NATA application confirmation page for future reference.

(NOTE: You are NOT required to send any of your documents or filled in NATA application form via post to the NATA exam authority i.e. the COA.)

NATA Exam Fee 2019

The general category students are required to make the payment of INR 1800/- via online mode while the NATA exam fee for the candidates belonging to the reserved categories (SC/ ST) is INR 1500/-.

How to Pay NATA 2019 Exam fee?

You can pay the NATA exam fee through the State Bank of India/ Bill Desk Payment Gateway. You can choose your preferred mode to pay the NATA application fee. You can pay your fee via Debit Card/ Credit Card or Net Banking. Once you successfully make the payment, you will be shown a status of your fee payment and then will be redirected to the ‘Confirmation Page’.

You must note that the confirmation page is the proof of your NATA 2019 registration. Hence, you must take a printout of the confirmation page for future reference, if required
