The National Institute of Fashion Technology, commonly known as the NIFT conducts a written examination in order to evaluate students' ability and skills for its undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the field of fashion technology. The NIFT 2019 entrance exam was held on January 20, 2019 in paper-based mode. Interested candidates need to qualify NIFT written examination, followed by the situation test/group discussion/personal interview rounds. NIFT has announced the important dates for NIFT 2019 entrance exam. The application process for NIFT 2019 has been concluded on December 28, 2018. Check the dates of counseling here

Eligibility Criteria

Undergraduate Programmes

Bachelor of Design (B.Des) (Fashion Design / Leather Design / Accessory Design / Textile Design / Knitwear Design / Fashion Communication)

The applicant needs to complete 10+2 in any discipline from a recognized board.

Candidates with General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible.

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary School Examination from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects are also eligible to apply for NIFT 2019 entrance exam.

Applicants with 3 or 4-years diploma recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education can also apply.

Bachelor of Fashion Technology (Apparel Production) (B.FTech.)

The candidate must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics Central/State Board of Secondary Examination, such as Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi, and Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi.

Candidates with General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/ International Baccalaureate (IB) are also eligible.

Candidates who have completed Senior Secondary School Examination from National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with minimum five subjects including Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are also eligible to apply for NIFT 2019 entrance exam.

Applicants with 3 or 4-years diploma in any branch of engineering recognized by AICTE or a State Board of Technical Education can also apply.

Postgraduate Programmes

Master of Design (M.Des)

The applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Applicants with an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of three years from NIFT/ NID are also eligible.

Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.)

The applicant must have completed a Bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

Applicants with an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of three years from NIFT/ NID are also eligible.

Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)

The candidate must have a B.F.Tech. from NIFT or any Institute / University recognized by law in India

Application Details

Candidates can apply online for NIFT 2019 through visiting NIFT web portals i.e. www.nift.ac.in or https://admission.net/nift2019.

Candidates can also access the application form by clicking on the ‘Admission 2019- Apply Now!’ banner available on the official website of NIFT.

After opening the NIFT online application web portal, click on the ‘Fresh Candidate to create Log In (New Log In)’ tab to register as a new user.

Fill up all the required information including a valid Email ID and contact number to apply online.

Click on the ‘Submit’ button. Remember, information filled once will not be changed under any circumstances. Hence, students are advised to fill up the application form carefully.

As soon as the application form is submitted, the candidate will receive a confirmation mail of the successful registration on his/ her registered email ID.
